History of Mahjong

Originally introduced in China in the 1800’s, Mahjong is a four-player, tile-based game of skill and luck steeped in tradition. The beloved game spread globally to the United States in the 1920s, where it quickly gained momentum, and in 1937, the National Mahjongg League was formed to standardize the American rules of play.
